Muchas gracias to siblings with better emailing archive practices than my own. The following is the email that was sent out to family / friends to announce the pregnancy with DS2 and DS3 (before we knew it was a BOGO deal). Just putting it here so I have it somewhere that I won’t (presumably) delete/reformat/disappear in an exercise in upgrading or otherwise lose it.Limited Press Release

Earlier today, a spokesperson for P.R. {MyLastName} Enterprises announced the expected release of their latest collaboration, Offspring version 2.0. The estimated release date is January 18, 2003. Coincidently, this date will also be the 3rd anniversary of the release of Offspring version 1.0.

Officers at P.R. {MyLastName} said that they expect the release of Offspring version 2.0 to result in some significant changes in their day to day operations but to a somewhat lesser degree than the release of version 1.0 did in 2000.

This projected release may cause some scheduling challenges for P.R. {MyLastName}. Prior to this announcement, plans were already in motion for moving the company’s headquarters. Current progress on those plans indicates that this event will occur at roughly the same time as the release of Offspring 2.0. Having been involved in a move just prior to the release of version 1.0 also, corporate planners had attempted to prevent the completion of the two projects from coinciding. However, due to circumstances not entirely within their control this was not possible without actually placing one of the projects on hold indefinitely – an option that was not compatible with the company’s long-term goals.

Analysts for the company have said that Offspring 1.0 does indicate some initial resistance to running smoothly alongside an, as yet, hypothetical, version 2.0. They will be working on these compatibility issues between now and the release date. It is expected that there may be some initial issues with the harmonious simultaneous operation of versions 1.0 and 2.0 but they are optimistic that these will be resolved quickly and that versions 1.0 and 2.0 will ultimately mesh well and complement each other.

The company did release details of the standard X/Y features in version 1.0 prior to its release. However, at this time, there are no details on whether version 2.0 will have those same features and the company does not plan to determine that prior to the release.
